Connect Confluence
StackWeaver reads, and never changes, one read-only endpoint on your Confluence site once a day, through a one-click approval on Atlassian's own page. This guide says exactly what is read, which permission is approved, and how to disconnect.
Last reviewed: 6 November 2026 · Describes what is live in production on that date. A result is evidence of what the provider returned at a time, nothing more.
1. What it collects
Once a day StackWeaver reads the list of spaces on your Confluence site. The result is kept as an Evidence Object with a SHA-256 fingerprint (platform), including a result that fails.
| Check (as shown in the portal) | What it looks at |
|---|---|
| Spaces reachable | Whether the approval is still valid and your site's own spaces list responds. Only the count of spaces is kept; no space's name. Evidence only: no threshold is applied. |
2. What it does not do
- It never reads a page's title or content. The one check reads only how many spaces exist on your site.
- It cannot change anything: the approval is read-only.
- It does not say your documentation practices meet any requirement. A result is what Confluence returned at a certain time.
3. The access it needs
One scope, approved on Atlassian's own page: `read:space:confluence`, confirmed required for reading a site's spaces (Atlassian). Confluence reuses the same StackWeaver app your Jira connection (if any) already approved — no separate app registration.
Who can connect. In StackWeaver, a workspace owner or admin presses Connect. Atlassian may require a site administrator to approve the app first, depending on your site's settings.
4. Connect steps
- In StackWeaver, open Evidence, the Confluence section, and press Connect Confluence.
- On Atlassian's own page, choose your Confluence site and approve the read-only request.
- You are returned to StackWeaver already connected. Nothing is typed into StackWeaver.
5. Reading the results
| Label | What it means |
|---|---|
| Pass | The provider returned data that meets the threshold at that time |
| Fail | The provider returned data that does not meet the threshold |
| Not enabled | There was nothing to check, or the feature needs a plan StackWeaver could not confirm |
| Could not check | StackWeaver could not read the data, or the check needs a higher plan than the account has |
6. Disconnect and revoke
- In StackWeaver, press Disconnect on the Confluence section. StackWeaver deletes its stored access.
- In your Atlassian account's Connected apps settings, revoke StackWeaver's access yourself — StackWeaver has no way to ask Atlassian to revoke the approval on your behalf.
What remains. Past evidence stays in your workspace as the audit trail. Disconnecting does not delete it.
7. Troubleshooting
| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
| Not available yet. StackWeaver is still setting up its Confluence connection. | The connector is not switched on for your workspace yet; contact StackWeaver |
| Reconnect Confluence: Atlassian did not accept the connection | Press Connect Confluence again and approve on Atlassian's page |
